Rolls-Royce Campus Visit

On the 4th of July 2014, I had a unique opportunity to visit the Rolls-Royce Campus at Seletar Aerospace Park.

It’s a S$700 million investment that included the most modern Rolls-Royce manufacturing, assembly and test facility for Trent aero engines, as well as research and training facilities.

The Trent aero engine manufacturing plant was relatively small, but very efficiently designed. We were shown the workflow and different stages of building one of these massive engines.

As it was a highly restricted building, we couldn’t take any photos inside, but I managed to take one of the entrance.

A really cool design.. note the fan blade images on the side of the curved sliding doors.
